About Atlantis Academy
Atlantis Academy was established in 1976 for students who have learning difficulties and are struggling in their current school environment. Atlantis Academy emphasizes the importance of close parent/teacher/student relationships for the benefit of each child. Our low student-to-teacher ratio and experienced, caring and nurturing staff help foster students' self-confidence and self-esteem.
At Atlantis Academy, the student as an individual is our primary concern. Personalization in curriculum, academic expectations and age-appropriate socialization is the foundation of our program. Atlantis Academy offers a program that allows students to discover their strengths, their own unique learning styles and the methods and technologies that work for them. We believe that small class sizes and a close-knit campus allow for personal attention and help develop the leadership skills and confidence of each student.
We believe every student has a preferred learning style. Some students are visual learners; some are auditory learners; others are kinesthetic learners. Our staff is trained to utilize differentiated instruction to meet the needs of each child. Personalized learning strategies are aligned with each student’s academic level and pace of learning. We emphasize core subjects such as reading and writing, language arts, math, social studies, and science. The use of interactive computer technology is stressed as part of the curriculum. We also offer after-school clubs, a daily after-school program, tutoring and a full summer camp and academic program.
Atlantis Academy is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI), an accrediting division of AdvancED.
Families interested in admission to Atlantis Academy are invited to make an appointment to visit the school for a pre-acceptance conference and tour of the campus. If a child is transferring from another school, please provide prior school records. We currently have three locations in Coral Springs, Miami, and West Palm Beach.
Tuition scholarships are available from the State of Florida’s McKay Scholarship Program. Students who are enrolled in a Florida public school for a minimum of one year and have an Individualized Education Plan through the Exceptional Student Education Department may qualify for this scholarship program.
Camp Atlantis offers a variety of exciting summer programs for kindergarten through 12th grade students. We provide several program options including summer fun camp, academic camp, and credit recovery.
